The preschooler is now focusing on pre-reading and pre-writing skills as they prepare for Kindergarten!

 

Tools and lessons from Handwriting without Tears will help these four-year-old children begin important handwriting skills. Get Ready to Read assessments help the teacher set goals for early literacy in the areas of phonemic awareness and letter recognition. We use Number Tales as a reference to develop the knowledge of numbers and mathematical concepts.  

 

During this Pre-Kindergarten year, learning emphasis is placed on following directions, focusing on group learning activities, working together in cooperative groups and at self-directed learning choices as well as teacher directed activities in small groups.
