You will need a Parish Verification to submit with your application and when your child re-enrolls each year. In order to provide this form for you, the parish office must be able to verify that you are what the Archdiocese of Atlanta considers an Active Parishioner.
The Archdiocese of Atlanta defines “active parishioners” as those registered and worshipping members who contribute of their time, talent, and financial resources to support the Parish by the following:
donating to the weekly offertory and other special collections,
actively participating in Mass each week, and
sharing your talent within the parish community (Adult Ministry, not children/youth).
We would like you to share your talents with us. We have many opportunities here at OLA to get involved. Some ministry’s can take a lot of your time and involvement; others are a couple of times a year; so there is something for everyone to be involved in our Parish Life. Click here to learn more about the ministries of OLA.
OLA has many meetings and events for you and your family to enjoy, however, attending something is not considered as sharing of your talents.
An example of enjoying one of our events while sharing your talent would be to formally sign up with the responsible ministry to help with the coordination, set-up, tear-down, or overseeing to esure that the event runs smoothly.
By participating in the prayer of the Church through it’s liturgies, and by sharing your time and talent with Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church, you are answering your baptismal call of Priest, Prophet and King. Parish Verifications, with a photo attached, should be turned in to Anne Stephens at the Parish Office.
